Humans of The Tribe: Adams
Some people have good energy. And then there's Adam William Rwanika - affectionately known as Adams.

I've known Adams for a number of years now - since before The Tribe Experience existed and since the very first 'proper' experience back in February 2022, he has been a constant. A cornerstone. A presence you feel before he's even said a word.
It's almost impossible to describe his energy unless you've experienced it. It's warm. It's emotional. It's completely, entirely genuine.
Everything Adams does - every way he shows up, for every guest, adult and student alike - comes from the very bottom of his heart, and people feel that.
Every single person who meets Adams doesn't just remember him as a guide. They stay in touch with him. They build a real relationship with him. Because you know, without a shadow of a doubt, there's no act, no performance. Just Adams being Adams. That level of authenticity is so rare and precious in today’s world.
All of our guides in Uganda are incredibly knowledgeable - they have to be. But Adams brings something else entirely.
He doesn't just guide you through a place, he connects you to it. To the people. To the culture. To the feeling of being somewhere that changes you and somehow, without even trying, he becomes part of every single person's story.
In February 2024, we took on our biggest experience to date (at that time), taking 50 people to the rooftop of Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro.
What nobody knew - except me, Martin, and Adams - was that we had secretly arranged for him to join us.
It was his first time on a plane and his first time leaving Uganda and suddenly, there he was - in the middle of this enormous Tribe experience, surrounded by so many people whose lives he'd already touched on previous trips back home.
The moment he arrived was electric and for the following seven days on that mountain, Adams did what Adams always does - he lifted everyone around him, at exactly the moment we all needed lifting. Physically and metaphorically.
He shared a tent with my son, Kaine, and Tribe super guest, Ben. The three of them formed their own little brotherhood - laughing, supporting each other, looking out for one another through the highs and the hard moments. Sharing things that will stay on that mountain, and deep in their hearts, for a very long time. Kaine always laughs at the fact he’s got so many brothers and sisters from all over the world - but he knows how lucky he is to count Adams as one!
For me, personally, Kilimanjaro was something even more special. Because for once, we got to take care of Adams - in the same way he has always taken care of every Tribe guest on every Tribe experience. It was my chance to show him just how grateful I am for everything he has given over the years, and the impact he has had on so many lives.
When Harry and Danielle returned to Uganda for their special engagement trip, there was never any question about who should guide that journey. It had to be Adams.
He had been there from the very beginning of their story. He had watched it grow. And he felt every single moment of that experience just as deeply as they did - which, if you know Adams, is exactly how you'd expect him to be.
Then there are our students.
A new generation, experiencing Uganda for the first time - with a truly once-in-a-lifetime guide. From our very first Tribe Student Experience, Adams has been a huge part of what makes those journeys so powerful.
The students love him - instantly. Because he meets them exactly where they are. He brings energy, joy, humour, and a level of care that stays with them long after they've left.
On our most recent student experience, in March 2026, he wasn't even supposed to be there. He had already committed to another trip before ours was confirmed. But still - he went out of his way to show up. To surprise the group (and me!), to spend time with them, and with Lesley, CEO of Juniper Training, with whom he has formed the most special bond.
The emotion when he had to leave us and head back was raw, real and completely Adams. He wanted to be with us and we wanted him with us.
Over the past few years, Adams has been part of experiences that have reached hundreds of people. Guests. Students. Families.
What he's given them isn't something you can capture in an itinerary. It's something so much deeper. Joy. Connection. Community and an experience, in his country, that all of those people will share when they return home. The contribution that has made to tourism, knowledge and understanding of Uganda, shouldn't be underestimated.
There are very few people in the world who have the ability to make others feel the way Adams does. To create that level of connection. To leave that kind of impression. To show up, every single time, with a heart so open and so genuine that people are changed by simply being near him.
"Adams - you are a living, breathing example of everything The Tribe is, stands for, and strives to be. Community. Coming together. Lifting each other up. There is no better advocate. No better representative. No better human.
I hope you know just how many lives you have touched - and what that means for all our guests, families and students who carry their memory of Uganda, home with them".
This is Humans of The Tribe.
And Adams is, without question, one of the most special humans in it.
