The Experience

The Tribe Experience has teamed up with our friends at Tribal Fishing to offer a once in a lifetime predatory fishing experience on the Nile, combined with Rhino trekking and the very best safari experience in Uganda, at the stunning Murchison Falls.

The Tribe Experience is an ABTA and ATOL protected travel agent that has been operating in Uganda since 2018 via our non-profit organisation The ONE LOVE Project which provides vulnerable children in Uganda with long term education and opportunities. We are focused on sustainability in tourism and have been working with our specialist local travel and tourism team on the ground, since 2017. All fishing is done on a catch and release basis only.

The Team

Experienced fisherman and life-long friends Lawrence and David, joined The Tribe Experience in February 2023 and were immediately drawn to the country, its people, its wildlife and its fishing opportunities! The eager eyed fisherman returned to Uganda in June 2023 for a fishing only trip and it was then they caught the biggest fish in their 30 year history on the mighty River Nile - a 113lb Nile Perch!

Their life-long friendship and mutual love of fishing makes them brothers at heart and we are proud to have joined them up with our brother at heart, Martin, and team leader of The Tribe Experience in Uganda, to offer the ultimate predatory fishing experience.

The ultimate predatory fishing experience.

The Fishing

Murchison Falls National Park is considered the best place in the world to fish for the Nile Perch, a fierce apex predator that dominates its surroundings. The Nile Perch is one of the largest freshwater fish and anglers have landed to a huge 300 kgs or 661lb!

Methods of catching the Nile Perch include live bait fish suspended mid water and lure fishing with imitation baits. Nile Perch can be targeted with strong fly fishing tackle as well as the tricky tetra fish so this experience will also appeal to the keen fly angler. Other targets include Tilapia, Vunda Catfish, Tiger fish, Lung fish and the Tetra Fish.

FISHING

Experience leaders and fisherman, Lawrence and David, couldn’t believe what they saw (and caught!) when they returned to Uganda in June 2023, to test the experience. Nile Perch, Vunda Catfish, Tiger fish, Lung fish and the Tetra Fish are all targets on the Tribal Fishing Experience.

RHINO TREKKING

In the 80s all Rhinos in Uganda became extinct through poaching. America donated a male and a female and they wouldn’t mate so Kenya donated a male and a female. American and Kenyan Rhinos mated and they called their first baby Obama. Uganda now has 32 white Rhino’s and you will experience these incredible animals up close and personal on the Tribal Fishing Experience.
