We've been travelling to Uganda, specifically the Kabale region, for over five years and have built up many connections during that time and carried out an immense amount of work in the local community. Our team on the ground is run by Martin, who was born and raised in Kabale, and went on to become one of the best tour guides in Lake Bunyoni. We have a strong relationship with the team at Overland Resort which is our main base during our stay.

Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa whose diverse landscape encompasses the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains and immense Lake Victoria. Its abundant wildlife includes chimpanzees as well as rare birds. Remote Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a renowned mountain gorilla sanctuary. Murchison Falls National Park in the northwest is known for its 43m-tall waterfall and wildlife such as hippos.
An intimate 10 day community experience, packed full of adventure, in some of the most stunning parts of Uganda. The actual itinerary varies on each experience but will always include some of the following experiences.
Arrive in Uganda and head straight to our first location, the beautiful town of Jinja and our first hotel Paradise on the Nile! Settle in, chill by the pool or venture into Jinja and enjoy lunch with your new Tribe then it's time to rest ahead of the white water rafting experience!
Enjoy the once in a lifetime experience of white water rafting on the Nile with your new tribe! It's a short transfer ride to the shores of Lake Victoria, where you'll be briefed and put in your rafts before you head down the River Nile to take on the grade 5 (of 6) rapids. Hold on tight!
New to The Tribe itinerary it's a chance to see one of the most famous sites in Uganda, the intensely beautiful Murchison Falls. Located in the middle of the national park, we'll spend the next 2 nights in the safari lodges here as we party under the stars with, well who knows!
It's an early start as we head off to the biggest national park in Uganda for our safari game drive and a chance to see the big 5! Then in the afternoon we hit the water for our lake safari and a chance to get up close and personal with the hippos, elephants and crocs.
Explore the vibrant, colourful and pretty little town of Fort Portal - known as the tourism city of Uganda! We’ll have a short but lively stay in Fort Portal as we experience the infamous nightlife, wonderful food and stunning views of the Rwenzori mountains.
Time to head to the stunning and tranquil setting of Overland Resort, on beautiful Lake Bunyoni. We'll settle here for the remainder of our experience while we undertake our community projects and meet the incredible mountain Gorillas of Uganda/Rwanda.
One of the most memorable experiences you'll have on the trip. In small groups, split over the next couple of days, you'll head in to the mountains with your tour guide to see the incredible mountain Gorilla's of Uganda.
When you're not gorilla trekking with your tribe, you'll be taking part in community projects with them. Days 7, 8 and 9 will give you the opportunity to work in teams to make life-changing improvements to families in Kabale, where we've been working with the local community since 2018.
Our final day in Uganda and it's time for the famous Tribe Festival in partnership with our good friends at Soul Tri3e. Dance to the finest Afro-beats played by some of the finest DJs from Uganda, UK and around the world as we party under the stars, on one of the many islands on Lake Bunyonyi.
