The Tribe x Last Night A DJ Saved My Life present a very special experience to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for fun, fitness and for purpose.
BOOK NOWThe Tribe x Last Night A DJ Saved My LIfe Kilimanjaro Climb will take place February 1st - 10th 2025 and includes two optional East Africa extensions. We're climbing for two local causes - Feathers Tale Special Needs Home and Angels Gate Street Boys Home in Moshi, near Kilimanjaro, founded by the amazing Share Tanzania, and The One Love Project in Uganda. Tribe co-founder, Kai, built the project from scratch in 2017 and the school in Kabale, south west Uganda, now provides education and boarding to 150 students including 9 children with special needs. All guests will be expected to raise a minimum of £1,000. The experience is strictly limited to 50 places and we expect these to fill quickly. Once places are confirmed, we will set up a WhatsApp group with all experience members. Here we will share all the important information as we build up towards the experience. So, dust off your climbing shoes, tune in to the rhythm of adventure, and join us for the ultimate Kilimanjaro climb - for fun, for fitness and for purpose. Big love, The Tribe and LNADJ x Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Foundation : Registered charity in England & Wales no. 1142478.

You will need to have a tried and tested kit with you. Sleeping bags, walking poles and sleeping matts can be hired at a small additional cost if you wish. How much you choose to spend on your equipment is a personal choice however if you have no kit and choose to buy mainly second hand from sites such as Vinted then expect to spend around £300. Detailed kit list will follow in April 2024.
The Tribe is proud to work in association with the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (KPAP). KPAP is about the fair treatment of guides and porters, regulating tips and treatment. There will be around 150 Tanzanian guides and porters helping us on our trek. KPAP has produced tipping standard guidelines which are a necessary additional cost on the trip. All tips are in USD cash, per day, per porter: Porters $7-10 Cook $10-$15 Assistant guides $15-20 Local Head Guides $20-25 Additional duties attract extra tips. Expect between $300/$400 per person in tips, in addition to the trip cost. Many people also choose to donate part, or all of their kit, at the end of the trip in the iconic tipping ceremony.

January and February is the first "short dry season" on Mount Kilimanjaro, making it a great time to trek. This time of the year tends to be colder than the longer dry season of June-September and you have a higher chance of encountering snow on the upper reaches of Mount Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro has five distinct climate zones, beginning with a subtropical zone and ending with an arctic one! Tried and tested all-purpose hiking equipment is required. Night-time temperatures can get very cold above 3500m so warm clothing and sleeping bags are essential.
